Blackfriars in Newcastle is, in my opinion, one of the best value lunches in our city. I have visited a few times over the years and always leave feeling impressed and as if I have received good value for money. It is not somewhere for a cheap meal, but does provide excellent value. There's a difference.

Earlier this year Branzino, a new Italian restaurant, opened on the banks of the Tyne in Newburn.
Located just off Newburn Bridge, it has taken over the premises of the former Boathouse Pub. This is an ideal venue for people who want to ‘dine on the Tyne’, but without the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

One of my favourite places to visit in Newcastle with my young children has got to be the Owl Tree Cafe in Red House Farm. The cafe is a community interest project, set up to help combat the issue of social isolation which many parents face.
