Nest | Chillingham Road | Sunday Lunch Review

This post is based on a visit to Nest in November 2021. Please always check with the venue directly for up to date information.

Sunday Lunch at The Nest, Chillingham Road

Nest on Chillingham Road has been one of Newcastle's must-visit restaurants since opening in 2021.

In fact I'm sure many dates were booked up before they even opened their doors.

When I booked our table for Sunday Lunch, I could only manage to book a date which was three months in advance. Oh well, something to look forward to I thought.

Bad Cat Cafe | Wallsend | Review

Thanks to our writer Jennifer for this post.

We recently visited the Bad Cat Cafe; a novel take on the traditional cat cafe model.

Here you can still expect to get your paws on a cuppa whilst mingling with some adorable moggies, however, unlike similar venues the Bad Cat residents are all rescues who will not stay at the cafe long term.

7 River Tyne Bridges Walking Challenge

Thanks to our writer Alyssa for this fab post and photos. It shares how you can cross the River Tyne via 7 different bridges in one day. A lovely alternative walk / adventure to try with a few places to stop en-route too. This post was published in July 2023. Over to Alyssa......

The sun comes out and suddenly my Facebook and Instagram become covered in people wandering along the famous Newcastle Upon Tyne Quayside creating a buzz among the nearby beer gardens.

River Tyne Bridges Walking Challenge

Does anyone ever look at the typical beer garden photos and think - I wonder what the view is like from up there? The beer garden under the sage in this photo is usually swarming, I keep meaning to check it out - something for the summer bucket list!

Newcastle University Open Day - What To Expect

This post is based on our own experience of Open Day in November 2023.

Newcastle University Open Day - What To Expect

I didn't attend a single open day before going to university in 2002. Looking back, I am really shocked by this! Imagine moving miles away to a city that you've never been to before by yourself. It feels crazy to me but it was kind of normal back then.

Where to eat near Northern Stage.

Northern Stage is probably our favourite theatre in Newcastle and we have been regular visitors over the years.

Being surrounded by Newcastle University Campus, Northern Stage is pretty central in Newcastle so has planety of great places to eat within walking distance.

Pizza Punks | Newcastle | Review

Pizza Punks | Newcastle | Review

We were recently at Newcastle Theatre Royal to watch the Panto and decided to head to Pizza Punks on Grey Street for a pre-theatre meal. As one of our kids is vegetarian, it is sometimes difficult to find somewhere with good vegetarian options but pizzarias are always a winner.
